Primland reinforces its quality control
La empresa francesa de kiwis ha obtenido este año la certificación IFS que garantiza el control de la seguridad alimentaria en toda la cadena de suministro.
In 2011 the company Primland took a step forward in terms of organization of its services with the implementation of the ISO 9001V2008 system. However, this seal did not guarantee a follow-up of the food safety of the product itself, a demand increasingly requested by customers in Northern Europe today and this made the company decided to go further, implementing the IFS system in all its processes and suppliers and, ultimately, throughout the chain.
“With this new certification, we offer reliability in the supply chain, from the field, packaging stations and logistics platforms, to transport providers, with an absolute guarantee of quality and food safety for our customers”, explains Primland General Manager, Jean Baptiste Pinel.
This improvement comes in a year where the kiwi crop, of its brand Oscar, will have higher production, around 10%, and where a new cooperative joins the firm and comes into play. “We are going to reach 15,000 tons in our wide range of kiwi”, says the director.
It is the innovative snack type kiwi that Primland has been growing for some years and in which it is investing in promotion. It has higher nutritional values than the usual kiwi. In addition, it does not require just phytosanitary treatment so it stays in sustainability line.
